Assignment # 7
a.) Which category of Canadian Personalities interested you the most? Did you like the "we inspired", "we founded", "we fought", "we built" or "we governed" section the best? Why?
I liked the we fought category because i liked hearing about they're way of life and how they tried to make things better. For example Nellie McClung one of the people from this category, tried her best to show that women should be more recognized as people. She thought it was important for women all over the world and tried her best to help.
b.) Which personality interested you the most? Why? Find an image of him or her to embed (add to the body of your post) and write, in your own words, a short description of what he or she did and why he or she is your favourite.
Nellie McClung interested me the most because she was one of the most important Canada's first wave of feminism. She also published very famous novels. She was famous for what she did and because she helped to win the vote for Canadian woman, witch made her elected to the Assembly of Alberta. I thought she was the most interesting one of all because she took her work very seriously and did not give up on it. Also because she was very successful with her work.
c.) In your post, suggest three more influential Canadian personalities that could be added to this site. Why did you choose these people? Which categories would they fit into? Link to information about each of them.
The three influential Canadian personalities that chose are: Douglas Joseph Cardinal, Frank Owen Gehry and Moshe Safdie.
Douglas Joseph Caedinal is one of the Canadian personalities that i chose. He is from Calgary,Alberta and he is an architecture. He would go in the we inspire section because he has accomplished alot of his work. I chose him because when i started reading about him and his successful business i got interested and wanted to hear more. Another reason why i chose him is that when i saw some of his art work i got more interested because i really liked them.
The second person is named Frank Gehry, he is also an architecture and was very successful and famous. I chose him because i have heard of his work before and heard his best known work includes the titanium convert. He goes in the same section we inspire because he also accomplished his work. Frank was also a Pritzker Prize winning architecture.
The third person is Moshe Sofdie was a travelling man and had alot of jobs. He was a teacher as well as an architecture. I think he goes in the we inspire section because of his amazing work and accomplishment's he made even though he had two kids. I chose him because i tought it was very amazing how much he accomplished over the years, from one job to another. His office at the Harvard University is still there.
5. Vote on your favourite Canadian personality. (Click on the link to vote)
I voted for Nellie McClung.
6. Turn the volume down on your computer, and play the Mystery History-Maker Match-Up. Find out which personality you have the most in common with.
7. Go back to your post and answer the following question:
d.) Which History-Maker did you have the most in common with? Were you able to figure it out from the clues given? What do you share with that person? What are some things that are different between you and that person?
I had the most in common with Harriet Tubman, and i was able to figure it out from the clues given. The things that we don't have in common are: she doesn't know her date of birth exactly. She had 8 brothers and a sister. She has a nickname and she risked her life to help people escape from slavery. The things that we have in common are: We both knew how to speak English but did not know how to read or write at first. She has a lake named after her, and i would like to have a lake named after me.
Alma was born in August 17, 1996. She became a medical doctor in the year 2022. She researched for an easier cure of diabetes. After months of research and work, she finally accomplished her work. she found an easier cure for diabetes. The cure that she found didn't include taking medicine everyday, but a much easier one than that. She was very proud of her self and knew that people will be living normal lives. The cure came very useful when her son got diabetes. After she figured the cure she became more interested and tried to figure out more cures, but unfortunately she passed away. There are hospitals named after her, as well as schools.

Assignment #5
Winter's in Canada are very cold, but there are many ways that can help us face the cold weather. We can wear gloves, scarf, jacket, snow pants, boot's, hat's etc. You can also turn up the heater in you're house, and use a blanket.
If you're dressed appropriately and are still cold, imagine the early Canadians who did not have any of these items and still stayed during the winters.
There are a lot of reasons why they stayed in the cold weather. Some of them are:
1. There was no freedom.
2. Most men were forced to join the army.
3. No jobs, or very little paying jobs.
4. Many were poor, barely survived.
My family and I moved to Canada 4 years ago. We were very shocked when we first saw all the snow, and how cold it was during the winter's. Even though we've experienced previous winters, they were never as cold as the Canadian winter's.
I got my information from this website.

Assignment#4
All of my classmates worked really hard and did a good job on their assignment#3,what Canada will look like in 2109. The two people that i really liked were Rania, Mariam.K.
I liked Rania's because she put "I think that in 2109 there will be less pollution in the environment."I really like that quote because its a very important thing and people have been trying hard enough to make it happen, and hopefully in the future it will.
I also like Mariam.K's because of this quote "I think also there will be a hole lot less racism in the world, because not that United States has a African-American president people might follow what he did and pick any kind of people".I really like this quote because its something very important, and some people don't really care about that, but the world would be a hole lot better if there was less racism.

Assignment # 3
In 100 years i think that the world will change a lot from today.
There would be less pollution in the world .
Scientists would think of more interesting inventions.
I also think that there is going to be less racism now that Obama is a precedent of the united states, and he's and African American.
This is Christopher Moore's address, and this is where I got, most of my ideas from.(click her to check it out).
